Responsible for technical service and support of the GGP porcine suite of genomic
productsand services
Present the value proposition of a custom genomic evaluation as a value added
service to our GGP porcine genomic testing. Engage with porcine industry stakeholders
and present opportunities for company to provide genomic evaluation solutions to
their swine operations.
Provide customers with breeding consultations and assist customers in trait selection
in alignment with customer’s genomic breeding program goals.
Communicate with company’s Genomics prediction group to help company customers
setup custom genomics evaluation system and pipelines
Works with end customers to collate and export relevant data, and works with internal
stakeholders to ensure this data is correct, comprehensive, and correctly formatted
for use
Have an in-depth understanding and the ability to convey methodologies implemented
by the Product Development team to end users
Responsible for supporting front line sales team with maintaining and driving sales
growth throughout the assigned territory. This will involve approx 60% of the time
travelling.
Develop formal sales plans and strategies to penetrate new markets and increase
market share and profitability of territory. Provides written updates on a monthly basis.
Maintain databases of distributor representatives, key influences, and industry
leaders
Responsible for conducting training, presentations and workshops on the application
of GGP Porcine product line and genomics evaluations to internal stakeholders,
industry
groups, distributors and channel partners.
Supporting distributors and channel partners sales efforts to achieve their expected
targets. Includes joint sales calls on farm and demonstrating and selling the products
Keeps aware of technological advances in the animal genomics field domestically and
internationally.
Seek out and develop market opportunities, understand and act upon opportunities.
Conduct competitor analysis and provide marketing team
Have a working understanding of the sales ordering/recording processes e.g. LIMS.
Work with customer service personnel, to provide high level of service to customers.
Offer a high degree of technical support to customers, through developing a high level
of technical understanding of the products and applications and the target markets.
Completing work assigned by supervisor in a timely manner.
Qualifications
BSc in Biology, Animal Science or Agriculture. Specialization in Genetic Breeding and
Reproduction is preferred.
Swine breeding experience is required, preferably previously involved in breeding
decisions at a swine production facility. An understanding of commercial Agriculture
production systems is a plus.
Understanding of genomic evaluations in swine breeding an asset.
Fluency in both English and Mandarin is a requirement. Excellent communication skills,
both oral and written English and Chinese.
Proven track record as a team player and good communicator.
Proficient computer skills. Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Outlook, OneNote); Adobe Acrobat; Customer Relationship Management software
experience a plus.
